Phoot Camp

What is Phoot Camp?

WHAT?

Phoot Camp is an invite-only camping trip and photography workshop hosted by Laura Brunow Miner, founder of Pictory and former editor in chief of JPG Magazine. (Yes, thats P-H-O-O-T, a nod to O’Reilly’s Foo Camp, a retreat for the best and brightest in the tech industry.)
Picture forty-eight hours of photo walks, scavenger hunts, portrait challenges, slideshows, s’more making, and more creative collaboration.

WHO?

Photo geeks from all over the US and even a few from Europe. Some photo industry folk from JPG and Photojojo, too.

WHEN?

October 9-11, 2009

WHERE?

A gorgeous campsite on the bay near San Francisco.

WHY?

Life is about doing great work with our friends, if we make it happen. Creatives can tend to be independent folks, but you can’t achieve your wildest dreams on your own. While we don’t always know who these important people in life are going to be or how we’re going to do the best work of our careers, getting a bunch of talented strangers sharing tents in the woods seems like a good start to finding out.
